Division Two Activity
Role Playing
The whole class would be broken up into halfs. One half of the class would be given a gibberish script and instructions on how to talk to the other half of the class. Students would then be paired up in groups of four. There would be two gibberish speakers and two non gibberish speakers. The gibberish speakers would ask the non gibberish speakers questions. The Gibberish speakers would have the advantage of having a decoded version to understand what was being asked. The non gibberish speakers would try their best to answer simple questions and instructions.
Guided questions
Students then would work in their groups and work together to answer guided question worksheet about their experience. The worksheet would also give a some background information on Receptive language disorder. Questions that would be asked would be as follows:
Class Discussion/Brainstorm
After the worksheet is filled out students would have a class discussion about the questions. Student would then brainstorm ideas on how they would include and help a fellow peer if they had this RLD. They would also consider how they would want to be treated if they had Receptive Language Disorder.

- Could you decipher anything what was being asked of you?

- Could you imagine always being confused about what people were asking of you?
- What could of helped you understand what was being said?
